Big Lots will lose its third high-level executive with the retirement of chief merchandising officer John C. Martin, the Columbus-based retailer announced Wednesday.
Mr. Martin, 62, will continue until the company finds a replacement and will serve as a consultant through May.
The news follows David Campisi’s May 6 arrival as president and CEO, taking over for Steve Fishman. In June, Big Lots parted ways with Charles W. Haubiel II, who was executive vice president, chief administrative officer, general counsel, and corporate secretary.
