The Appliance Center Home Store will continue its 50th anniversary celebration this weekend with a carnival in its parking lot.

“We want to give back to the community for 50 years,” said Jim Grzywinski, general manager of the Maumee store, 321 Illinois Ave. “They’ve been very good to us, and we want to give back.”

Live music will be featured both Saturday and Sunday.

Skoobie Snaks will play from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, followed by East River Drive from 3 to 6 p.m. On Sunday, My ’80s Vice will perform at 11 a.m. and Velvet Jones at 3 p.m.

For the kids, there will be carnival games, face painting, a Euro bungee jump, a giant bounce house, balloon artists, and a magician. Adults likely will be more interested in the giveaways, which will include gift certificates and televisions.

Mr. Grzywinski said two manufacturers — Toshiba and Simmons — will have truckloads of televisions and mattresses that will be sold at low prices.

Special financing deals will be available throughout the store, Mr. Grzywinski said.

In July, the Appliance Center helped sponsor the Maumee-Perrysburg fireworks and held a merchandise giveaway.
