Toledo-based healthcare network ProMedica has submitted plans to build a three-story Health and Wellness Center on the 11-acre Starlite Plaza shopping center on Monroe Street in Sylvania.

The $45 million medical center, which is expected to be ready by late 2015, will be an innovative health care building that will coordinate a patient‘s care and well being by placing a variety of medical services, including doctors offices, specialty medical practices, outpatient medical services, diagnostic services, and wellness education, all under one roof.

Construction on the site, located at 5700 Monroe, could begin next month if ProMedica receives site plan approval from the Sylvania Plan Commission. The healthcare network bought the shopping center last June for $7 million and submitted plans for the project on Tuesday.

The plan commission will consider the project at its June 11 meeting and could approve it if no changes or modifications are required by Sylvania officials.
