2001 Karrie Webb, 26, captures the LPGA Championship by two strokes to become the youngest woman to complete the Grand Slam. Webb has won her last four majors including consecutive U.S. Opens by a combined 25 strokes. The Australian joins Juli Inkster, Louise Suggs, Pat Bradley and Mickey Wright as winners of the LPGA s four majors.

BASKETBALL: Libbey High School graduates Brad Sandridge and Tony Brown will each continue their basketball careers on scholarship at the junior college level. Sandridge -- who averaged 11.9 points and 5.1 rebounds as a senior for the 24-3, Division II state runner-up Cowboys -- will remain local and play for head coach Kevin Skaggs at Owens Community College. Brown, also a Libbey starter, will play at Imperial Valley College in Imperial, Calif.
BASKETBALL: Three Owens Community College players will continue their careers at four-year schools, all at the NCAA Division II level. Wes Taylor, a first-team All-City League and All-Blade player as a senior at Clay High School in 2005-06, will play for former Eastern Michigan University coach Jim Boone at Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tenn. Taylor's Owens teammates, Verdell Billingsley and Gabe Gibbs, will play at Ferris State and Glenville State, respectively.
