1973–Secretariat, ridden by Ron Turcotte, rallies from last with a powerful move on the clubhouse turn to win the Preakness Stakes by 21/2 lengths over Sham.

1974–The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Boston Bruins 1-0 to win the Stanley Cup in six games.

1979–Spectacular Bid, ridden by Ron Franklin, wins the Preakness Stakes by an easy 51/2 lengths over Golden Act.

1991–Willy T. Ribbs becomes the first black driver to make the lineup for the Indianapolis 500.

CENTRAL CATHOLIC CAMPS: Central Catholic's boys basketball camp, led by coach Jim Welling, will take place June 21-24 at the Sullivan Center. The camp is led by coach Jim Welling. Times are 9-11:30 a.m. for incoming grades 4-6 and 12:30-3 p.m. for incoming grades 7-9. Cost is $50 each, or $40 each for four or more players from the same team. The Central Catholic football camp, led by coach Greg Dempsey, is scheduled for July 7-9 from 9 a.m.-noon at the Gallagher Athletic Complex. The camp is for incoming grades 3-9. Cost is $40. DIVISION I TRACK: The Division I district boys and girls track meet is scheduled Thursday starting at 4 p.m. and Saturday starting at 11 a.m. at St. Francis deSales High School. Admission: $6 for adults, $4 for students.
