•Connect to Creativity teen art show at the Toledo-Lucas County Main Library, 325 Michigan St., now through April 28. The show is in the gallery on the second floor, the display area on the garage level, and in the Wintergarden on the first floor. It includes 150 works of art - drawings, paintings, jewelry, and sculptures - from area youths in grades 6 through 12. A reception for the teen artists and an open house is scheduled from 3 to 4 p.m. on April 28. in the McMaster Center and Lobby. The Main Library is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5:30 p.m.

•Ruth Blank Essay Contest for children in grades K through 12, sponsored by the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library. The theme is "How Tall Is Your Tale?" Categories are K-second grade, third-fifth, sixth-eighth, and ninth-12th. Prizes will be awarded to winning essay entrants: first place $200, second place $100, third place $50 and six honorable mentions at $25 each. Contest essay forms are available at all Toledo-Lucas County Public Library branch locations, at the Main Library, and on the Library's Bookmobile. Essays must be turned in by May 14.

•Business After Hours event hosted by the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce, April 12 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Ward Pavilion at Wildwood Metropark, 5100 West Central Ave., near Corey Road. Promote your business in a relaxed setting with light snacks and beverages. Display tables available for $100. Purchasers will receive a set of mailing labels of all attendees.
