Fourth of July

•Freedom Fest 2007 from 5-10 p.m. June 30 at Cathedral of Praise, 3000 Strayer Rd., Maumee. Helicopter rides, carriage and pony rides, quad bungee jump, games, entertainment. Fireworks display at 10 p.m. Information: 419-866-2094.

•Sylvania Star Spangled Celebration, July 3 from 7 p.m. to midnight at Centennial Terrace, 5773 Centennial Rd., Sylvania. Fireworks at 10 p.m. Dancing, food, activities. Admission, $5 adult, $3 child. Parking, $3 per car. No carry-in food or beverages allowed at Centennial Terrace. The fireworks may be seen from Sylvania Pacesetter Park, 8801 Sylvania-Metamora Rd., at a $3 parking fee per vehicle. Information: 419-882-1500.

•Fort Meigs July 3: Star Spangled Banner Celebration at Fort Meigs State Memorial Park, July 3 from 4 p.m. to midnight, 29100 West River Rd., State Rt. 65, Perrysburg. Amusement rides, pony rides, food and ice cream vendors, games and crafts, free blood pressure checks. The Academy Brass Quintet performs at 8 p.m. Free admission.

•Maumee-Perrysburg Fireworks on July 3 will be fired from Fort Meigs Memorial Bridge at 10 p.m. The bridge will be closed from 8-11 p.m. to pedestrians and vehicular traffic, and no cars allowed on Conant Street in Maumee from US 24 to the bridge. Spectators may sit in Conant Street between Broadway Street and the bridge and in the 200 block of Conant Street. Community picnic before the fireworks, 5-9 p.m. in the 100 block of East Wayne Street. Rain date is July 5.

•Fort Meigs on July 4: an 1813 Independence Day celebration, 2 p.m., with an 18-cannon salute, toasts, fife and drum music. Military and camp life demonstrations, hands-on activities for children. The museum and fort are open noon-5 p.m. July 4, State Rt. 65, a mile west of downtown Perrysburg. Admission, $8 adults, $4 students, free for ages 5 and under. •Fourth of July: 1876 Celebration, noon to 4 p.m. July 4 at Providence Metropark, 13827 U.S. 24, Grand Rapids, at Kimble's Landing. Celebrate the nation's centennial birthday on a journey aboard "The Volunteer" canal boat, at the Ludwig Mill and shopping in the General Store. Craftspeople will demonstrate blacksmithing, tinsmithing, woodcarving, candle making and more. Hands-on crafts and activities for the family. Free.

• Annual Star Spangled 5K Run, 8 a.m. July 4 at Starr School, 3230 Starr Ave., Oregon. Register on race day between 6:45-7:45 a.m. Information: 419-693-8618.
