A TRIP ALONG THE CANAL

8/15/2007

James Paddock takes a ride on the mule-guided canal boat in Providence Metropark. Visitors to the park in Grand Rapids, Ohio, get a taste of life in the 1800s through canal boat rides and tours of the Isaac Ludwig Mill, where water power is still used to saw lumber and grind grain. The Volunteer canal boat and the mill are open through October. The park is on a section of the Miami and Erie Canal, which once ran from Cinncinnati to Toledo.
