Student of the Week: Kimberly Macke, Bowsher High School

Kimberly Macke, a senior from Toledo, plans to attend college and pursue a career as a nurse practitioner. Her favorite subjects include math, anatomy, and art, and she has a 4.48 grade-point average.

A scholar athlete, conflict mediator, and peer mentor, Kim is also a member of the yearbook staff, Student Council, the volleyball and softball teams, and STAMPS, an organization formed to teach health care to elementary students. She is an active volunteer for the American Diabetes Foundation.

"Kim is a conscientious, focused, and energetic young lady," said Teresa Puglisi, the school's guidance director. "Academic achievement is a priority with her as is evidenced by her GPA - yet she enjoys being involved with school activities."

Kimberly is the daughter of Wade and Sue Macke.
