Student of the Week: Halley Hutchinson

Halley Hutchinson

Halley Hutchinson, a junior from Toledo, plans to major in engineering in college and pursue a career in mechanical engineering. She has a 2.9 grade point average and enjoys English and math.

Last year, Halley was named to the Director's List, and she was captain of the volleyball team for two years. Halley plays basketball, softball, and volleyball for her home school, Woodward High School, and is a member of the Toledo Technology Academy Alternative Energies Go-Cart Team.

"Halley has been an integral part of our alternative energy team for two years," said teacher Ted Richardson. "She has helped fabricate the fiberglass bodies of our go-carts, designed and made battery holders for our electric car, and never crashed any of our vehicles."

Halley is the daughter of April Hutchinson.
