Student of the Week: David Sowa

David Sowa, a senior from Maumee, plans to major in biology with a minor in foreign language. He then plans to pursue a career in medicine and possibly work abroad. He has a 4.7 grade-point average and enjoys English and Spanish.

He is a National Merit finalist, was the Spanish and chemistry student of the year, and has been recognized by the Lucas County Educational Service Center for outstanding achievement in Spanish and English.

David is a member of the Interact volunteer group, the Spanish and drama clubs, and the LINK Crew, a freshman mentoring club. He is serving an internship in the school lab and has been acknowledged in a soon-to-be published research paper.

"Not only is David blessed with natural talent, he is also extremely motivated," said Jen Drage, advanced placement calculus teacher.

David is the son of Robert and Liu Hua Sowa.
