Perrysburg s popular Music in the Park series is remaking itself as Music at the Market the farmer s market, that is.

Beginning tomorrow, the Thursday evening summer concerts will move to Commodore Square the green space created at the corner of Louisiana and Indiana avenues by the demolition of part of Perrysburg Schools Commodore building.

For years, the concerts had been at Woodland Park.

It s a great opportunity to put everything exciting on Thursday night in dowtown together, said Robin Ballmer, director of the Perrysburg Area Arts Council. The farmers market is a big success, and it just seemed fitting for people to be able to enjoy both instead of choosing between one or the other.

The farmers market is held every Thursday from 3-8 p.m. on Louisiana Avenue.

The concerts, which run from 7-8:30 p.m., begin June 18 with a performance by Lori Lefevre Johnson.

The concerts are free thanks to funding from the city of Perrysburg.

Ms. Ballmer said concert-goers are encouraged to bring along a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.

We are hoping people get something to drink and eat and come down and enjoy a nice evening in Perrysburg, she said.

The rest of this summer s concert line-up includes Kerry Clark on June 25; Dan, Don, and Dave on July 9; Boffo on July 16; High Country Ramblers on July 23; Suburban Legend on July 30, and Bobby May & Dry Bones Revival on Aug. 6. On July 3, Swingmania will perform a special pre-fireworks concert at Fort Meigs at 8 p.m.
