Perrysburg forming musical theatre group

4/21/2010

An organizational meeting for the newly formed Perrysburg Musical Theatre is set for 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Way Public Library's downstairs meeting room.

The Perrysburg Area Arts Council has announced the formation of the new community musical theater group, and a call has been put out for actors, singers, dancers, directors, choreographers, musicians, music directors, accompanists, ushers, set designers, stage managers, technicians, advertising designers, business sponsors, seamstresses, carpenters, painters, and support staff.

Broadway actor Jody Madaras and Perrysburg actress Carrie Sanderson are leading the effort to start this new community theater which aims to produce at least one high-quality, Broadway-style musical each year, featuring talents and skills of local residents, according to the arts council. The group hopes to have a semi-permanent home in the Commodore Building in Perrysburg.
