Artist demonstrations, such as on glass bead and pottery making, will highlight the Downtown Bowling Green Art Walk on April 30.

During the day-long celebration of the arts, businesses throughout the downtown and other areas in the community will host galleries for visual and performing arts, open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Participating artists work in a wide range of media, including painting, photography, fiber arts, and jewelry. Demonstrations include henna tattooing. Features include a poetry blast and dance and music performances at stages throughout downtown.

The Wood County District Public Library is hosting the poetry blast and poets of all ages are invited to read their work, starting at 1 p.m. outside, weather permitting.

Visitors can make flowers as part of a community garden art project to create a floral wall hanging from felt shapes. The hanging will be displayed at the Downtown Farmers' Market later this year. There is no charge to participate in the hanging art project. Visitors can take home a flower pin for a $1 donation.

In addition, Art Walk visitors can vote for their favorite artists and join the celebration at a downtown coffee shop, Grounds for Thought. The after-Art Walk Jazz Jam, featuring The Silverbacks and the People's Choice Awards, are scheduled to get under way at 6 p.m.

To help visitors get from venue to venue, shuttles will be available.

Details on the 19th annual Art Walk are available at downtownbgohio.org and maps will be available in participating businesses beginning April 20.
