Grand Rapids to conduct ‘Birdie’ auditions

The Historical Society of Grand Rapids will conduct auditions this weekend for its summer musical, Bye, Bye Birdie at the Town Hall Theatre in Grand Rapids from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Those attending the audition should come prepared to read from the script; sing, and dance.

An accompanist will be available.

The cast calls for 16 major adult roles with nine males and seven females and nine major teen roles with three males and six females. 

There will be a teen chorus and additional adult roles.

The musical will be presented July 8, 9, and 10 during Rapids Rally Days in Grand Rapids.

Sam Macera will be directing.
