Whitehouse is gearing up for its third annual Founders’ Day July 5.

The festivities, which are to run from 5:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. at the village hall, 6925 Providence St., include kids’ games and activities at 5:30, dinner at 6 (hot dogs and brats cooked by the Whitehouse Fire Company), and fireworks sponsored by the Whitehouse Area Chamber of Commerce at dusk.

The event features music by Mt. Fuji & the Eruptions at 6:30 p.m.

New this year is a fund-raiser for the Whitehouse Library. A flock of flamingos dressed in various garb has been on display in May and June in downtown Whitehouse. Folks can vote on their favorite; the artist will receive prizes and gifts. Charles Plymale, a local auctioneer, will auction the flamingos at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds aid the library.
