A PNC Bank branch in South Toledo was held up on Thursday and a suspect was arrested a short time later, authorities said.

Dennis Vernon King, 63, no address available, was charged with aggravated robbery and was being held in the Lucas County jail pending arraignment, Toledo police said. Authorities said Mr. King also identified himself as Wayne Sill.

The bank at 4 S. Reynolds Rd. near Hill Avenue was held up at 11:57 a.m. by a lone gunman who fled in a white Oldsmobile Alero with a Michigan license plate, police said.

About 15 minutes later, a Sylvania Township police officer saw a car matching the description of the getaway vehicle at Central Avenue and Holland Sylvania Road and then stopped it in the 7500 block of Central, Toledo police said.

The vehicle was searched and evidence from the robbery was recovered, police said. Police did not describe the evidence.
