Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Thursday
12/4/2012The Holland/Springfield Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Holland will host the fifth annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Strawberry Acres Park.
The event features a Living Nativity and holiday music performed by the Springfield High School brass ensemble.
Holland Mayor Mike Yunker, with help from area children, will light the tree at McCord, Angola, and Clarion at 7 p.m.
Santa Claus is expected to arrive shortly thereafter, courtesy of the Springfield Township Fire Department Station No. 1.
Following the tree lighting, residents are invited to visit the Lodge at Strawberry Acres where cookies and hot chocolate, donated by area businesses, will be served. For children there will be craft projects and visits with Santa.
