CD to document history of Ohio

12/18/2002

Just in time for the state's bicentennial celebration, a Toledo producer of documentaries has boiled down Ohio's history to a 70-minute compact disc.

Michael Drew Shaw, who produced an audio history of Toledo for the city's sesquicentennial in 1987, takes a mostly upbeat look at the state's history in “Ohio, A Sentimental Journey.” Listeners will hear about the eight U.S. presidents from Ohio and learn about the state's contribution to the oil, steel, and glass industries.

Copies of the CD, sanctioned by the Ohio Bicentennial Commission, should be widely available by the end of next month. American Retrospects LLC of Toledo plans to issue at least 25,000 discs at $19.95 apiece.
