COLUMBUS - Simon Rodriguez of Toledo has been appointed by Gov. Bob Taft to an indefinite term on the Ohio Local Option Workforce Investment Board, which serves as liaison between the Governor's Workforce Policy Board and 43 local work-force areas.

Mr. Rodriguez, a sales representative for the family owned SGI Image Graphic arts firm, replaces Robert Reichart of Toledo, who resigned. Members are not compensated.

The governor also reappointed J. Randal Van Dyne, executive director of the National Center of Excellence for Environmental Management at the University of Findlay, to the Ohio Emergency Response Commission through Jan. 13, 2005.

The commission works to improve statewide preparedness and response to chemical emergencies and promote awareness of possible hazards.

David DiManna of Toledo was reappointed to the Tax Credit Authority through Jan. 12, 2007. He is an accountant and office-managing partner with Plante & Moran.

The authority rewards investment and job creation by businesses by redirecting some state revenue back to them.
