Lima man gets state appointment

COLUMBUS - Michael Schoenhofer of Lima, Ohio, was named yesterday to the Ohio Council on Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services by Gov. Bob Taft.

The executive director of the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Allen, Hardin, and Auglaize counties was appointed for a term lasting through July 31, 2005.

He replaces William Zumbar of Alliance, Ohio, whose term expired.

The council reviews development of and changes to the state's plan for addiction services. Members are compensated only for their expenses.

Mr. Schoenhofer was one of six new appointments and reappointments to the council.

He received bachelor's degrees from St. Meinrad College and Gregorian University in Rome, Italy. He received master's degrees from Gregorian and Ohio State University.
