Hospital chief named to state disaster board

COLUMBUS - Gov. Bob Taft has appointed Timothy J. Jakacki, president of Fostoria Community Hospital, to the State Board of Medical Services, which prepares the state s response plan for disasters and is charged with developing a grant program to improve such services.

Mr. Jakacki, a Maumee resident, replaces Larry Willard of Logan on the board. Raymond Walendzak, chief of the Oregon Fire Department, was reappointed to the board. Both terms expire Nov. 12, 2006.

Former Williams County Commissioner Gloria A. Osburn, of Montpelier, was reappointed to the Ohio Commission on Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management, which coordinates dispute resolution programs across the state. Her new term will expire Nov. 16, 2006.

Members of both boards are compensated for expenses only.
