4 agencies get funds for business aid

COLUMBUS - Four northwest Ohio nonprofit organizations were awarded the total of $180,100 in grants through the state's Microenterprise Business Development Program, officials said.

The recipients and corresponding sums are:

• Lima/Allen Council on Community Affairs - $29,100.

• Hancock, Hardin, Wyandot, Putnam Community Action Commission - $60,000.

•Neighborhoods in Partnerships (Toledo) - $50,000.

• WSOS Community Action Commission (Fremont) - $41,000.

The grants are designated to provide training, technical assistance, and small business development loans to low-to-moderate income Ohioans interested in establishing, improving, or expanding their business.

The four area nonprofits were listed among 11 nonprofit organizations and three communities in Ohio, which were awarded the total of $760,000. The funds are expected to leverage about $1.5 million in additional public and private funds.
