COLUMBUS An Ohio man has pleaded guilty to a charge of plotting terrorist bombings against Americans overseas.
Christopher Paul entered the plea Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Columbus. Under an agreement with prosecutors, the 44-year-old Paul faces 20 years in prison.
Paul, a U.S. citizen, was indicted last year.
He fought with holy warriors in Afghanistan and Bosnia, according to a statement of facts read in court by an FBI agent Tuesday. The statement also said Paul returned to Ohio and began recruiting other people to establish a holy war group in Columbus.
Paul didn't make a statement in court.
He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction specifically bombs in terrorist attacks.
