Disgraced Ohio attorney general attends national AGs meeting

CLEVELAND The former Ohio attorney general who resigned after saying he was not prepared for office is now part of a group that mentors attorneys general across the country.

Marc Dann stepped down in mid-May amid a sexual harassment investigation involving a top aide and the revelation of his own extramarital affair with an employee.

This week, he attended a National Association of Attorneys General meeting in Rhode Island.

In an e-mail to The Plain Dealer, the Democrat who served about 16 months in office says he attended the meeting as part of a group of former attorneys general who support current officeholders.

Association spokeswoman Angelita Plemmer says Dann was treated with respect by colleagues.

Ohio attorney general s spokesman Jim Gravelle says Dann s expenses were not paid by the state.
