COLUMBUS -- Columbus police say three bodies have been found in a duplex home on the city's west side.

Sgt. Rich Weiner (WY'-nur) said Thursday that police were investigating the deaths as homicides. The police spokesman declined to comment on how the three were killed.

Weiner says they weren't children though it's unclear whether they were adults or older juveniles. He also indicated it was too early to say whether the three were related.

Officers went to the home after getting a call shortly before noon from two people who had gone to the home to check on the residents. Weiner couldn't say whether the two were relatives of any of the dead.

In the sergeant's words: "This is going to take a long time to figure out."
