HAMILTON, Ohio A coroner in Ohio has ruled that a 5-year-old boy died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, but officials have not decided if any charges should be filed.
An investigator for the Butler County coroner s office determined that the shooting Saturday evening was an accident.
Authorities said Zachariah Nesbitt found a handgun in his family s apartment in Hamilton and shot himself in the chest. The bullet penetrated his lung.
Police believe both the boy s parents were home when the shooting occurred.
Investigators indicate there could be a decision later this week on whether charges should be filed.
