COLUMBUS — Ohio restaurants that offer alcoholic beverages on Sundays will be able to start serving them two hours earlier, beginning this weekend.

A new state liquor law takes effect allowing dining establishments with Sunday sales permits to begin their bar service at 11 a.m., instead of the current 1 p.m.

The Ohio Restaurant Association lobbied for the change, arguing that the earlier time would be good for Sunday brunch and lunch business.
