COLUMBUS - Trustees at Ohio State University have approved a 7 percent tuition increase for the fall.

The increase in tuition and other mandatory fees means that it will cost undergraduates $741 more for the coming school year. The cost of full-time, in-state undergraduates will be $9,420.

Ohio State officials said yesterday financial aid would increase proportionally to the tuition hike so that needy students could still attend.

Tuition has been frozen for three years.

Several other state schools, including the Ohio University and the University of Cincinnati, also are raising tuition by 7 percent by the fall.
