CLEVELAND — The launch of an Ohio tax credit for movie makers has been followed by lights, camera and plenty of action.

According to the Ohio Department of Development, the first year of the tax break enacted during 2009 brought nine film projects expected to pump $33 million into the state's economy.

The Ohio Film Office say in the two years before the credit, just three comparable movies were made in the state.

The films in production during the credit's rollout year included a Denzel Washington thriller titled "Unstoppable" and the All-American Soap Box Derby film "25 Hill," being made in Akron by actor-director Corbin Bernsen.

Ohio development officials say the nine films have given work to 3,700 Ohioans.
