LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 62-year-old woman is recovering after she was attacked by her dogs in a southern Michigan home.

The Jackson County sheriff's office said Monday that the woman was in a house with her roommate in Liberty Township, about 60 miles southwest of Detroit, when one or more of their 11 dogs began to bite her.

Her roommate took the woman to a local hospital just before 4 a.m. She later was transferred to a hospital in Ann Arbor, where she was treated for numerous bite wounds and torn skin.

Police were not sure which of the 11 dogs attacked the woman. They said seven were removed by Animal Control officers.

The woman at first told police she was attacked by two dogs while out walking her dog.
