BRIDGEPORT, Ohio  — Vandals have blitzed a small suburban town in eastern Ohio with offensive graffiti, including swastikas and obscene language.

Steubenville’s WTOV-TV reports at least six areas were hit last week within the community of Bridgeport, 3 miles from Wheeling, W.Va. The graffiti was painted on a variety of targets, including a truck, a home’s porch, a fence and a stop sign.

Bridgeport resident Evelyn Miller tells the television station she suspects the culprits are “children with nothing to do.” She calls the vandalism crazy and sad.

Police say they’re actively trying to catch whoever is responsible.
