CLEVELAND — Ohio has gotten a sneak peek at what expanding wind power will look like near Lake Erie.
A wind turbine that will stretch 24 stories high to the tip of the blade was unloaded Monday at the Port of Cleveland. The turbine was shipped from Europe and will be installed at the Lincoln Electric Co. in Euclid.
The turbine has blades 165 feet long. It will stand about three times taller than the wind turbine at Cleveland’s Great Lakes Science Center.
Cuyahoga County is making a $350,000 forgivable loan for the turbine purchase.
