OTTAWA, Ohio — The mayor of a small town in northwest Ohio is accused of soliciting a prostitute.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested Ottawa Mayor Kenneth A. Maag at a motel in Lima Monday afternoon. The sheriff’s office says Maag had not been charged yet.

Sheriff Samuel Crish tells The Courier newspaper in Findlay that Maag was cooperative.

Messages seeking comment were left at the mayor’s office. There is no home phone listing for him in Ottawa, a town of about 4,000 people in Putnam County.

The sheriff’s office says one other person also was arrested last week as part of the investigation into prostitution.
