Judge orders temporary stop to police ticketing protesters at Cincinnati park
'Occupy' march planned
10/19/2011CINCINNATI — A federal judge has put a temporary stop to the police ticketing of Occupy Cincinnati protesters camped out in a downtown park.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the judge's order Tuesday was meant to provide some breathing room while lawyers and city officials try to reach a deal in the demonstrators' lawsuit against the city.
Police have been enforcing the city's 10 p.m. curfew for Piatt (PY'-at) Park
The demonstrators say they will march to Wednesday's city council meeting to voice concern over some council members' apparent opposition to the occupation. The group also wants the city to change its rule banning people from the park after closing hours.
The protest is part of the Occupy Wall Street movement that began in New York to protest corporate greed.
