Governor fills vacancy on Monroe County court

MONROE -- Daniel White has been picked by Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder to fill a vacancy on Monroe County Circuit Court.

Mr. White, who has practiced law in Monroe nearly 30 years, will take over for Judge Joseph Costello, Jr., who resigned to take a position in the county prosecutor's office.

Mr. White is a former Monroe councilman. He holds degrees from Monroe County Community College and the University of Michigan and received his law degree from the University of Toledo. His appointment runs through Jan. 1, 2013. To complete the term that ends Jan. 1, 2015, he will have to seek election in November.
