Ohio jobless rate holds at 7.2 percent

COLUMBUS -- Ohio's unemployment rate held steady at 7.2 percent in July, unchanged from June.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services released unemployment data today. The agency said the number of unemployed workers fell by 2,000 in July from June, and has fallen by 97,000 over the past 12 months.

Ohio's unemployment rate had decreased in 11 consecutive months prior to July. The U.S. unemployment rate was up slightly in July, at 8.3 percent versus June's 8.2 percent.
