B.G. man can’t take bar exam because of violations

A Bowling Green man has been permanently barred from taking the Ohio bar exam because of his record of traffic and criminal violations.

In a 7-0 opinion, Ohio’s Supreme Court on Tuesday denied Jay Michael Wiseman, a 2010 University of Toledo College of Law graduate, permission to take the exam and become a lawyer.

The court cited a “pattern of traffic offenses and a lesser pattern of criminal conduct that demonstrates a ... disregard for the safety and well-being of others. He has taken shortcuts, knowingly violated rules, sued his father, who had ... concerns about his financial responsibility, and ... violated his fiduciary duties by misappropriating $75,000 held in trust.”
