WEST CHESTER, Ohio — A bomb squad was called to a U.S. post office in southwest Ohio after a report of a beeping bag left inside the lobby.

West Chester Township spokeswoman Barbara Wilson says the Butler County squad was called after township police and firefighters responded to a report of a suspicious package at 7:45 a.m. today. The squad removed and examined a large plastic trash bag that was making a beeping noise. She says no explosive was found.

The post office was evacuated and a section of Cincinnati-Dayton Road was closed for 45 minutes.

West Chester police are investigating where the bag came from.
