HILLIARD, Ohio — Police in central Ohio are trying to figure out how a 44-year-old woman ended up dead in her town house and her 22-year-old son injured and unconscious.

Police are calling Terri Menendez's death on Monday a homicide but have released few details about what might have happened. She was found dead in the two-story town house in Hilliard, near Columbus, and her son, Tyler Dunkle, was unconscious.

Hilliard police Chief Douglas Francis told The Columbus Dispatch that investigators don't believe any outsiders were involved. He said Dunkle has been unconscious so police haven't been able to talk to him.

Police were called to the address Monday afternoon because Menendez's co-workers were concerned that she didn't show up for work.
