CINCINNATI — Police say a southwest Ohio man has died after officers used a stun gun while struggling to subdue him.

Hamilton County sheriff’s deputies say they responded at about 3 a.m. today to a report of a man breaking out a neighbor’s windows in the Cincinnati suburb of Sycamore Township. Police say he assaulted a deputy, and a second deputy shot him with a stun gun.

Officers say the man stopped breathing soon after they placed him under arrest. A deputy reportedly tried to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The sheriff’s office says the cause of death is under investigation. No information on the man was released immediately, pending notification of his relatives.
