TROY, Ohio — Police in southwest Ohio say an armed man died after being shot by officers at an apartment complex where a woman was found with stab wounds.
The shooting happened late Tuesday as officers responded to reports of a domestic disturbance in Troy, about 15 miles north of Dayton.
Police Chief Charles Phelps says the responding officers encountered a man with a gun, and police fired at him. It’s not clear whether the man used his weapon.
Neighbors reported hearing five gunshots, but no other gunshot injuries were reported.
WHIO-TV says a woman who had stab wounds in her back and suffered a leg injury was flown to a hospital. An update on her condition wasn’t available early today.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is expected to investigate the shooting.
