Police identify Cleveland firefighter fatally shot in front of his house

CLEVELAND — Authorities in Cleveland have identified the off-duty fire department lieutenant who was shot and killed in front of his house.

Police say 45-year-old William Walker died after being shot several times Sunday night on the city’s east side.

Police say he had just parked his car and was walking to the house when he was shot. The 15-year fire department veteran died later at a hospital.

Detectives don’t know who shot him and are looking for the public’s help in solving the crime.
