Toddler falls into a backyard pond and dies; authorities in southwest Ohio investigating
8/25/2014FAIRFIELD, Ohio — Police say a toddler in southwest Ohio died after falling into a backyard pond.
WLWT-TV reports that police and medics in Fairfield responded to a call just before 9 p.m. Sunday and removed the 18-month-old child from the pond. Authorities tell the station that the toddler died later at Fairfield Mercy Hospital.
Authorities are continuing an investigation.
Fairfield is about 30 miles north of Cincinnati.
