CINCINNATI — A man who says he found his estranged wife and their two sons shot in what police suspect was a murder-suicide sobbed as he described the scene to a 911 dispatcher in western Ohio.

Arthur Johnson said in the call Wednesday that he had gone to the family’s Springfield home to pick up his sons for school. He said he found the three on a bed with the couple’s wedding pictures on the floor.

Springfield Police Chief Stephen Moody says the preliminary investigation indicated 32-year-old Rachel Johnson shot 7-year-old Daylan Johnson and 10-year-old Ayden Johnson and then herself. Moody says the mother and younger son were dead at the scene. The older boy died later that day at a hospital.

Police have not commented on a possible motive.
