WGTE-TV, Channel 30, will have two public showings of the documentary Lake Erie: Ohio's Great Lake next week, nearly a month before the 60-minute program makes its debut on the public television station.

The first showing will be Tuesday at the WGTE studios, 1270 South Detroit Ave. Larry Nelson, adjunct assistant professor at Bowling Green State University's Firelands campus, will be the keynote speaker.

On Wednesday, the documentary can be seen at The Lake Erie Islands Welcome Center in Port Clinton. Randall Buchman, professor emeritus of history and archaeology at Defiance College, will be the featured speaker.

Greg Tye, senior producer for the documentary, will be available for questions and follow-up discussion at each site.

Both events start at 6:30 p.m. There will be no admission charge. Due to limited seating, reservations are required. To make a reservation, call WGTE at 419-380-4654.

Lake Erie: Ohio's Great Lake - which profiles Lake Erie and the importance of the Great Lake's impact on the history, recreation, and industry of communities in Ohio - will debut on WGTE April 27 at 8 p.m.
