According to a TV Guide report on Tuesday, 'Today' show co-host Meredith Vieira, 57, is expected to leave NBC's popular morning show when her current contract expires in September.

A source close to Vieira told TV Guide that she has been in talks with NBC executives who are "doing everything they can to convince her to stay," but she is worn out from the demands of the morning show and ready to move on.

“There is going to be an opening; she’s done,” added another source in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

According to TV Guide's sources, 'Today' news anchor Ann Curry would be the top candidate to fill Vieira's role if she does decide to leave. The Hollywood Reporter says Today's Natalie Morales, Washington correspondent Savannah Guthrie and CNBC’s Erin Burnett would also be in the running for the job.

Vieira has co-hosted the program with Matt Lauer since 2006, when Katie Couric left to take the anchor job at CBS Evening News. 'Today' has been the top-rated morning show for over 15 years.
