Lottery shows now on Ch. 13
6/22/2011WTVG-TV, Channel 13, is the new local broadcast partner of the Ohio Lottery, carrying the nightly drawings and, on July 1, the new Cash Explosion game show. The Toledo ABC affiliate has been broadcasting the Ohio Lottery since June 1.
WTVG won the rights to broadcast the drawings and game show through a competitive bidding process by Ohio Lottery's media partner, Marcus-Thomas LLC. The drawings had been on WTOL-TV, Channel 11, for more than two decades.
Ohio Lottery drawings air at 7:29 p.m. weekdays and on Saturday during the game show. Cash Explosion will air at 7:30 p.m. Saturdays.
WTVG signed a one-year deal with the Ohio Lottery for the broadcast rights, with a one-year renewal option. The total annual contract is valued at $330,000, said Ohio Lottery spokesman Mike Byco.
