Reporter/meteorologist Kelly Heidbreder is no longer with WNWO-TV, Channel 24, and has joined WTVG-TV, Channel 13.
"Kelly is working for us on an interim basis," WTVG executive news director Brian Trauring said. "She is a candidate for the job to replace [meteorologist] Kristen Emery on mornings Saturday and Sunday. We're going to see how that goes. So far she's off to a great start."
Emery recently left for KDKA-TV, a CBS affiliate in Pittsburgh, her hometown. Heidbreder also writes a gardening column for The Blade.
Also in WNWO personnel changes, the NBC affiliate announced the hiring of Therese Viñal as weekend sports anchor. Viñal reported and anchored at Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area for the past several years, and is a former volleyball player at the University of Colorado, where she played four years.
"Therese is a sparkplug; her energy is infectious," WNWO news director Amulya Raghuveer said. "She's bright, hard-working, and extremely personable."
