Boyce, 45, is married to Sherry Boyce. They have two sons, Thomas II, 8, and Thombias, 5. A security officer and gospel rapper known by the nickname “Mr. T,” Mr. Boyce is the son of Johnnie Boyce, Jr., and the late Margie Boyce, and is a 1986 graduate of Start High School.

In love with ‘Amour’

The National Society of Film Critics selected Amour as the best picture of 2012 during its annual meeting.

The critics chose the star of Amour, Emmanuelle Riva, as the best actress, and Daniel Day-Lewis was chosen best actor for Lincoln.

The group of 60 prominent movie critics from around the country met Saturday at Lincoln Center in New York City to make its picks.

Austrian director Michael Haneke won best director for Amour. The French-language movie depicts the slow deterioration of the elderly woman played by Riva. It has been praised as an unflinching look at old age and life’s end.

Playwright Tony Kushner won best screenplay for Lincoln. Amy Adams was chosen best supporting actress for The Master, and Matthew McConaughey was selected best supporting actor for Magic Mike and Bernie.

No case?

Lindsay Lohan's attorney predicts there will be no case against the actress in connection with an alleged fight at a Manhattan nightclub.

Attorney Mark Jay Heller spoke after signing paperwork at the courthouse in New York Monday.

Office of Court Administration spokesman David Bookstaver confirmed that a criminal complaint has not been drawn up at this time. The district attorney's office said only that the investigation is continuing.

Lohan was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor assault in the Nov. 29 incident at the club Avenue. The Mean Girls and Liz and Dick star allegedly struck a woman in the face during an argument. At the time of her arrest, Heller said Lohan was “a victim of someone trying to capture their 15 minutes of fame.”

Cast album

The Broadway show within a show on NBC’s Smash is getting its own cast album.

NBC and Columbia Records said Sunday that a 22-song cast album for “Bombshell,” the mythical Broadway play at the center of the television show Smash, will be released on Feb. 12. Katherine McPhee, Megan Hilty, and other Smash cast members perform the songs on the disc.

Role for Fox

On his upcoming NBC comedy, Michael J. Fox will play a newscaster who had quit his job because of Parkinson’s Disease but returns to work in the show’s first episode because a new medical regimen has helped him control many of the disease’s symptoms.

It mirrors the life of the former Family Ties and Spin City star, who said last year that drugs have helped minimize the physical tics of Parkinson’s and have enabled him to take on more acting jobs.

NBC is penciling Fox’s yet-to-be-named sitcom in for September on its low-rated Thursday schedule. The long-running Thursday comedy 30 Rock ends its run on Jan. 31, and The Office will exit after a special one-hour episode this spring.

Arrested

Police in Los Angeles have arrested Dharma and Greg actor Thomas Gibson on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The 50-year-old Gibson was arrested early Sunday after he drove through a barricade set up to keep cars off the course of a night run through downtown. He was booked and released on $15,000 bail. Gibson is also known for his role in the show Criminal Minds.
